Lion Davinder Singh Kalra, a rising star in the horizon of Lionism, was born in a revered, prominent and God fearing family of Kapurthala. he is having a astounding academic record as Optometrist (eye consultant). Decent-natured and soft spoken, a man of action, Lion Kalra is successfully managing a reputed and prominent Kalra Optical House, Jalandhar & Kapurthala as its Managing Director. Happily wedded to a very sober and clear minded Lion Lady Baljinder Kaur Kalra couple is blessed with a respectful, brilliant & lovely son Arvinder and a bright futured daughter Muskan preet. Lion Kalra started sparkling on the skyline of Lionism in 1992 and brought to Lionism a blend of honesty, devotion and commitment with humbleness and integrity. A man moral values and innovative ideas, blessed with exceptional potentials of head and heart, Lion Kalra is source of motivation for all. With passion in thoughts to upthrust the image of Lionism to new elevation, he is a great Lion every inch with craving to provide his unsurpassed services to the humanity. Lion Kalra performed his duties in Club at various posts and in District as District Cabinet Secretary in 2003-04 & District Governor in 2013-14. He served as Sight First Chairman of home Club for over 20 years and organised conduction of more than 2250 Cataract Eye Operations with IOL. At Multiple level He remained Member of Multiple Coordinator Committee, Multiple Distt. GMT Club Services Team Member 2015-2017, Multiple Distt. Chairperson Environment 2021-22, Multiple Distt. Vision Chairperson 2022-23, Multiple Distt. Chairperson Humanitarian Services 2023-24
His honesty, loyalty and commitments towards his duties earned him recognitions in abundance including Best P.R.O. of the District, Best Achievement Book Award, Best Cabinet Secretary of the Multiple, Best Coordinator Award by Lions Club Woolwich & Greenwitch London (U.K.), Gold Member Award by Blind Association Derbyshire (U.K.), 3 International President’s Medals & 4 Leadership Medals and above all 18 International President's Appreciation Certificates.
Brilliance of ideas and innovative visualizations of Lion Kalra proved him exceptional designer of Distt. Mega Service Project of distribution of 150 Computers in Govt. Colleges & School in collaboration with Lions Club Woolwich & Greenwich London (U.K.), in the year of 2004 as project Director (thus proving him visionary of forthcoming generation) which was declared best project of the District and then of the Multiple also. He is also an originator of hall packed participated Seminar on environment Save Nature Save Future with 570 delegates. Implementing the heart burning desire to save environment, foreseeing the coming disaster, he got published 2000 books on the present burning issue of planting maximum trees to save mother-earth, emphasising the need and benefits of trees, and distributed those in entire Multiple which educated the readers concerning importance of saving environment. Lion Kalra proved himself an incomparable personality by providing and planting 85000 trees in anticipation of disaster by cutting forests.
